ORANGE PEEL DRYING

ORANGE PEEL DRYING

The orange peel is widely used in alternative medicine in the form of infusions or as a natural flavoring. The drying of this product is carried out mainly in the shade or in the sun. Although the natural aroma of the orange is maintained, other characteristics are also lost. But the main disadvantage is that you need a sunny climate and a lot of space. When the weather is bad, there is no way for the production to be normal, and the quality of the orange peel cannot be guaranteed.

Our company developed and manufactured a smart dryer for this application with low drying cost and small floor area.

How to dry the orange peel? For this application, medium and low temperature drying must be adopted, which can be divided into three stages:

  1. Preheating at the initial stage, heating up to 35°C gradually, keeping for about 3 hours, and starting to dehumidify when the temperature reaches 35°C.
  2. After 3 hours of drying, the orange peel begins to be relatively dry. At this time, the temperature should rise to 40°C. The temperature must be maintained and the dehumidification speed must be constant.
  3. After the first 6 hours of drying, the temperature is raised to 45°C at this time, the temperature is maintained, and it must be dehumidified for 3 hours. At the end of the process the humidity has been reduced around 13%
